Now You Know Why It's Called 'La-La Land'

If you're ever in Los Angeles — the land of bleeding-heart liberals and weirdos (or are they the same?) — don't try to help anybody in distress because L.A. will send you a bill.
For instance, two residents of that "great" city, went to the scene of a car accident on Aug. 22 to help the driver get out of his car but since the driver knocked over a fire hydrant and an electrical utility pole, the water in the street became electrified and the two women were killed by almost 5,000 volts of electricity. Several other people were injured.
The city, in its infinite wisdom, is charging the families of the two dead women $1,000 apiece for paramedic services. Those who survived are also getting a bill. The city was trying to find a way not to charge them but instead a councilman wants to raise funds for them.
Bull! These people should not be charged, especially the families of the deceased. Are the politicians in La-La Land insane? Those two women lost their lives to help save another. And they have to pay for it? What kind of people live in La-La Land? Do these politicians have no shame?

Idiocy

Todd Akin a Republican from Missouri is an egotistical fool who has only one loyalty: to himself. He's the jerk who commented about "legitimate rape," whatever the hell that is, in referring to women who become pregnant as the result of a rape.

He refuses to step down in his bid to become a U.S. senator from Missouri. He's apologized for his comments but it's too late and who wants somebody with his mentality in the U.S. Senate? The GOP is having enough of a problem this year trying to persuade voters to come over to their side but a lot of voters won't do that if jerks like Akin are allowed to proliferate.

Get rid of the bum. Don't allow him to run. If he doesn't pull out of the race there's got to be something that can legally by done to wipe his name off the ballot.
